Describe an item as if there were no picture; this will reduce (unfortunately, not eliminate) questions. Use gallery for unique items.
- Try 7 day auctions to extend the time for more people to see it.
- If you are selling clothing, shoes & accessories, remember the more measurements you give the better. Include the fabric content or what the shoes or purse is made of and lined in.
- Try starting most items at .99. Low opening bids attract more would-be buyers; and once someone has placed a bit, they feel "committed" and often bid an item up high above the "reasonable" price you might expect for it.
- Be responsive and courteous to all questions. Communication is very important. Send an email when payment is received and a notification when an item is sent. If possible ship the next business day after payment.
- Use USPS boxes when possible and online postage; it's a real time-saver not to wait in lines at the post office. Also, package items well. You want buyers to be impressed in a positive way!
- Be honest about your item. List all blemishes even if you think it is minor. You don't want the buyer to be surprised.
